Science Behind The Procedure

Botox® / Dysport/ Xeomin

Botox® Cosmetic can improve wrinkles caused by movement of the facial muscles, keeping the overall result subtle, powerful, and enhancing.

Since its rise to popularity in the mid-2000s, BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment has become the most commonly utilized cosmetic procedure in the United States

What is Botox? Botox® Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.

How does it work? Botox® Cosmetic works by relaxing the muscles of certain facial expressions thus reducing wrinkles and folds, This helps to reduce the frown lines , crows feet, upper lip lines that develop over the years. With less movement of these muscles, the skin surface gradually smoothes out, and aging lines begin to fade.

Botox® Cosmetic can also be used for the treatment o

Injectable fillers are a minimally invasive treatment to correct many of the signs of aging. They can make a dramatic improvement with minimal downtime.

Both Restylane and Perlane are cosmetic dermal fillers which come as smooth consistency gel that replace lost volume and restore youthful contours to the skin. .

Restylane and Perlane are made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a natural substance (Complex Sugar) that already exists in the human body . NASHA is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid, therefore no allergy testing is required. This replaces lost volume and restores youthful contours to the skin to smooth away moderate to severe facial wrinkles. World’s most used, most studied cosmetic dermal filler

How does it work? The hyaluronic acid molecules in Restylane and Perlane and their unique structure allows them to bind many times their own weight in water, As time passes and the hyaluronic acid begins to degrade, each molecule binds to more water which helps maintain its volume , thus retaining the water molecules and improving hydration . This effect can last for about six to nine months.

Some patients want a single area addressed, such as the folds around the mouth or the fine lines around the lips . We will design a treatment plan tailored to each patient based on their specific needs and desires.. Sometimes the best result can be achieved using different treatment modalities that complement each other.

What are the differences between Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and other fillers?

While there are benefits unique to each of the various brands noted above, there are also variations within a single family of fillers. Juvéderm®, for instance, has a formula used primarily for treating lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth (Juvéderm® XC), a formula for restoring volume to the apple of the cheeks (Juvéderm Voluma®), and a formula designed to augment lips that are thinning or just need a boost to appear fuller (Juvéderm® Ultra).

During your visit, we will determine which fillers, from Juvéderm® to Sculptra®, will address your unique needs.

What is Micro-Penning?

The MicroPen is a safe and very effective skin–resurfacing tool that creates micro channels in the skin to stimulate new collagen and elastin production. In addition, the treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, treat acne scars and smooth out textural issues such as sunspots, stretch marks and hyper–pigmentation. Unlike lasers, the MicroPen is safe for all skin types, including darker tones.

How does it work?

Micro needling is an advanced medical grade stainless steel device that when “passed” across the face, neck, décolleté or hands the device lightly punctures the skin creating micro channels which are essentially very small, controlled wounds. Immediately after the treatment, your skin will naturally start rebuilding new collagen and elastin for plumper, firmer skin. Another benefit of micro–penning is that it allows your topical gels, creams and serums that you use at home to be absorbed more effectively.

What are the Benefits?

Studies have shown MicroPen stimulates collagen by up to 200%. It also,

What areas of the body can be treated?

Micro-penning or micro-needling can be done on all parts of the body; face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.

How is the treatment performed?

A sterile cartridge tip containing 12 points is attached to the Eclipse MicroPen®. Our medical staff will apply a thin layer of numbing cream to your skin to alleviate any discomfort. We will then select the appropriate pen setting based on your unique needs, and in a single motion, will press the pen gently against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered. The process lasts approximately 30-60 minutes depending on the size and severity of the areas treated

What does it feel like?

With the topical gel, patients feel very little to no discomfort. The sensation is sometimes described as a light vibration across the skin.

Is there any downtime?

Since we’re creating a controlled wound, there will be a redness post treatment. This “mild sunburn” only lasts 24—48 hours, and many patients return to normal activities in a day or two.

When will I see results and how long do they last?

Normally patients see a benefit, or “glow”, immediately post-treatment but the maximum benefits won’t appear until the skin has had time to repair (approximately 6 months). The results last approximately 24 months once skin has healed.

How many treatments are needed?

For most patients, we recommend a series of 3 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart. Some patients only require a single treatment to achieve optimal results. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo–aging, stretch marks or acne scars, we may recommend 6–8 sessions.

What is MicroPen with PRP?

To enhance your results, you may elect to have MicroPen with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRP is a concentration of platelets crucial to wound healing and when applied topically, they release you own growth factors to further expedite the body’s own repair process. A study has shown that adding PRP to your treatment, stimulates collagen up to 2000%!

Radiofrequency microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to rejuvenate facial skin.

This treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The damage stimulates the growth of healthy new skin, which can benefit common skin issues such as, acne scars and wrinkles.

Radiofrequency microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment compared to other treatments like chemical peels and dermabrasion.

What is radiofrequency microneedling?

Microneedling is a treatment that uses fine needles to create microwounds, or channels, in the skin, which triggers the production of capillarieselastin, and collagen. It’s also called skin needling or collagen induction therapy.

Radiofrequency Microneedling is a form of microneedling that also uses radiofrequency waves. The needles release radiofrequency into the channels of the skin, causing additional damage. This enhances the effects of standard microneedling.

The skin that grows back is thicker and smoother. This can target:

You can also add microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with the radiofrequency. With this procedure, your provider draws blood from your arm and uses a machine to separate the platelets.

After which your provider injects or applies the platelets to the treated area after a microneedling treatment. This can help maximize the results of your treatment.

Who’s an Ideal Candidate for Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Radiofrequency microneedling is considered safe, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone

You may be a good candidate if you:

Thread Lift

What is a PDO Thread Lift? Thread lifts are a relatively new form of non-surgical face lift. If your face has loosening or sagging skin and you want a tighter, fresher more youthful look, this treatment may be suitable. There are no cuts or incisions, just injections

How does it work? Polydioxanone (PDO) threads are a special medical grade thread that is thinner than hair, made of protein. Research has confirmed that PDO relaxes tendons and muscles, whilst a foreign body reaction improves the blood flow to the area stimulating neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen in the skin). It also stimulates elastin and hyaluronic acid, both substances are key to maintaining firm, youthful looking skin

Is it safe? PDO threads have over a decade long safety track record in surgery and wound closure. They have also been used for about 6 years in orthopaedic surgery (frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and cosmetic skin rejuvenation. PDO threads gained FDA approval in 2004

What happens during treatment? Topical anaesthetic cream is applied following which threads are introduced into the skin through a fine needle – into either the skin itself, the muscle, or the subcutaneous fat. The treatment results in an immediate improvement in appearance but the results will improve over ensuing days and weeks as the PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, increasing the amount of collagen in the skin. The appearance of the skin improves in terms of overall texture, becoming thicker, tighter and firmer as fine lines and wrinkles are reduced

Which areas can be treated? This is a very versatile treatment which can be used in any part of the face and neck to treat sagging brows, naso-labial lines, vertical and horizontal forehead wrinkles, drooping cheeks, marionette lines, sagging jawline, plus wrinkles and folds on the chin and neck

What results can I expect? Thread-lift treatments result in an instant and natural looking improvement in the appearance of the skin. A process of natural protein synthesis then begins after about 10-14 days. Over the subsequent weeks results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months and lasting for up to 2 years as your own body produces collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Making this form of non surgical facelift a very long lasting treatment. The thread itself is completely biodegradable and dissolves within 12 weeks, after which new collagen has formed around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin
