What is Fibroblast skin tightening & Collagen Lift?
Plasma is a hot ionized gas consisting of approximately equal numbers of positively charged ions and negatively charged electrons.
When-electrical arch – plasma touches the skin surface, the heat is subsequently transferred into the epidermis effecting papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The result is contraction and tightening of the skin. Excess skin is reduced resulting in some degree of face lifting and wrinkle reduction. This is consistent with most, if not all, methods of skin resurfacing based on controlled skin damage, which activates healing response and promotes skin rejuvenation.
Plasma Lift is a method of controlled damage (by heating, fragmentation, vaporization
it is not as invasive or ablative as lasers and most importantly, there are no open wounds during the healing phase. This approach reduces the risks of scarring, infection, loss of pigmentation etc.
After the treatment small spots – scabs form. They need 5-7 days to fall off and during this time the patient should keep the skin surface clean and apply after care products to promote healing.
Plasma works similarly to a fractional laser
What happens during treatment?
- Prep and Numbing
- The skin is cleansed ( remove makeup)
- Anesthetic creams content of Lidocaine or combination of Lidocaine and Tetracaine
- Anesthetic cream left for atleast 20-45 minutes and wiped out prior to the procedure.
- During the treatment you may feel some heat and minor irritation. Swelling may increase over the following few hours when eyes are treated and may last 2-5 days.
Which areas can be treated?
- Eyelid Tightening, including lower eyelids and excess upper eyelid skin.
- Neck lines
- Jowls and neck tightening
- Lines and wrinkles around the mouth
- Smoothing out wrinkles mid and lower face.
- Reducing nasolabial lines (smile lines), marionette lines & crow’s feet
What Results Can I Expect?
Pre Procedure Instructions
Avoid any kind of tanning (Spray tanning, tanning injections, sun tanning and tanning beds) for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, you should try to use SPF5O to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker skinned. You may even wish to consider using a natural Tyrosinase Inhibitor to helps ensure there is no overproduction of pigment in the skin aka hyperpigmentation.
Avoid any other type of procedures on the same area which you intend to have treated with Plasma Pen, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, Botox, fillers, as this may prevent your treatment being performed by your technician at the time you want it.
- No facial acids (Retin A, salicylic, glycolic) 14 days before or 21 days after Plasma Pen.
- No Botox or fillers 21 days before or after Plasma Pen.
- No Micro needling/PRP 21 days before or after Plasma Pen.
- No laser or peels (depending on intensity of peel) for 90 days before or after Plasma Pen.
- Surgical procedures like face lifts you must wait at least 9 months postop /before Plasma Pen.
Post Treatment Instructions
- When numbing cream wears off you will feel a slight tingling similar to a sunburn
- Do Not Apply ice
- Do Not Work out or Exert yourself
- Do Not take IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) only TYLENOL till dots have peeled
- Do Not Apply Make-up
- Do Not lay on your Face or area treated
- No Sauna, Steam Room, swimming or sunbathing.
- No facials, Massages or Injectables till dots have completely peeled.
Washing Your Face
IT IS IMPROTANT THAT YOU KEEP TREATMENT AREAS CLEAN UNTIL SCABS HAVE FORMED & EXFOLIATED. This is the most important step in order to insure the best results and prevent the possibility of scarring or infection. Following Aftercare instructions exactly will ensure you achieve the best possible results
- Keeps the treated area clean using a mild unscented foam cleanser twice a day (morning and night) gently splash the area with cool water and very gently clean with soap and rinse very thoroughly. Use very mild gentle pressure to clean skin dry by GENTLY PADDING SKIN..
- Gently apply your aftercare Spray or GEL to treated area as needed to relieve pain and or itching until your scabs have fallen off.
- IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE.... Allow scabs to come off on their own. This will ensure the best possible result and avoid scarring.
- Once Scabs have peeled off please avoid sun exposure and tanning beds. The skin is vulnerable and can easily become damaged by the UV rays causing hyperpigmentation.
